About The Band

A little bit about us.

OddJive began as a series of semi-casual jam sessions. A love of groove, odd time signatures, improvisation and technical musicianship between the three founding members created an instant chemistry. The boys have all been playing music for a decent chunk of their lives and have a genuine love for what they do.

The improvisational funkiness and locked-in groove that Jared and Sam bring to the band is a result of ten years of playing music together (they got there in the end). The structural coherence is the result of Nick's ability to produce technically demanding riffs and his gift for song craft (without him, Sam and Jared would be stuck in an endless groove loop).

The band has a range of influences that we regularly draw from and encourage everyone to listen to. The likes of Snarky Puppy, Lettuce, Tauk, Radiohead, James Brown, Tool, have all provided inspiration in some way.

We have been playing music together as a unit for a year now, but our story has only just begun. A successful first gig will be followed up with an EP which we will begin recording very soon and actively promote to the best of our ability.
